My U of A fan- too bad we didn't have maroon and gold markers

Or just the work of an older sister! Bella walked into the room this morning looking like this. After I got over the shock, I couldn't stop laughing. Apparently, Julia wanted to know what it would look like and knew her sister would be up for a little face painting. Oh my, I can see many more years of this.

Pomp and Circumstance

Today was Julia's graduation day from Kindergarten. It was short and sweet- a short recital of songs, handing out of diplomas, then we went out for pizza. She was so excited to perform and wear her favorite dress.

Her teacher, Miss Nicholas, was once known to us as just Emily. She was our babysitter 2 years ago. We knew she taught at our local school but never assumed she would be Julia's teacher. Julia loved loved the fact that she had an "in" with the teacher and pointed it out to anyone who would listen. It was a struggle for Julia not to call her Emily but she got over that within a few weeks. We were lucky to have such a great teacher our first year of school.

Julia was also lucky to find such a great friend the very first day of school. Ashlynn and Julia have been inseparable all year. Her mom and I have also grown close- Ashlynn has a younger sister who is only a month older than Bella so its a great match for all of us.

Only 2 more days of school! I can't wait for summer! I will enjoy every minute before I have to let Julia go to school all day.

Mother's Day

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day! I did. A friend of mine said Mother's Day was a day for all the moms to act like dads. Not to bash men at all but that is kind of true- it's our nature to take care of everything and micromanage everything around us (so true for me). It is nice to sit back every once in a while, isn't it?

Yesterday (per my request), we went peach picking at Schnepf farms. Peaches have always been one of my favorite fruits. Growing up we had a big peach tree in our backyard- I loved eating as many peaches as I could after an afternoon of swimming.

We bought 6 lbs of organic peaches- my grand plan is to make lots of jam. We'll see.......
*Ignore the colored lips and teeth. The girls has just eaten Italian Ices.

Happy belated birthday Chet!

*
*I love this picture of Chet. Besides the fact that he looks SO handsome, I also like his sweet smile. He tends to smile all goofy or try a serious look so I like this picture a lot. Its also not a secret that I like him with short hair better. :)

My dear husband turned 33 last Friday. The celebrations seemed to go on forever since his bday was on Friday and we celebrated for 4 days (our family, extended family, friends, etc). So, due to all the celebrating, I have been way behind on my blog.
Chet- here are a few reasons we love you so.

You are a WONDERFUL father to our girls.
You do pretty well being the only blue in a house full of pink.
Your aren't ashamed to play "Last Christmas" by George Michael all year and you do!
You aren't too manly to love saltwater fish.
You look good on your motorcycle and in your knit hat.
You can always make us laugh.
You buy the newest cartoon on DVD and say it's "for the girls".
You are always available when someone needs help moving.
You like saying your own made-up phrases like "switcharoo for two".
Your family comes first.
We love you Chet!

Chet and his birthday cake. I made banana split dessert for the first time! This dessert is a Lamis family favorite and one of Chet's favorites. It is not easy to make and I am not the best recipe follower so I am proud!

A picture from our birthday party with friends. We went out to dinner and then to Uncle Bear's- a neighborhood bar. We closed the place down at 2am after some bad karaoke! Our friend Erin is a trooper. She is 9 months preggo and stayed with us all night!
*Who can tell me how to rotate the picture??
